A Russian-speaking individual using the alias "El Money" provided one of the men with financial incentives via Telegram to set the properties ablaze.
On Monday, two men were found guilty of a conspiracy last year to torch property connected to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The fires, which occurred in May 2025, caused damage to the residence Starmer vacated upon becoming prime minister, an apartment building in which he formerly held a share, and destroyed his previous Toyota SUV. No injuries resulted from the blazes.
Ukrainian national Roman Lavrynovych, 22, and Stanislav Carpiuc, a 27-year-old Romanian citizen, were convicted of conspiring to damage property through fire. Petro Pochynok, 35, was cleared of the charge.
Lavrynovych was also found guilty on two counts of committing arson with the intent to endanger life or recklessly endangering life.
A Russian-speaking figure known as "El Money" orchestrated the plan, offering Lavrynovych payment via the Telegram messaging app to burn the properties and capture video evidence that could be shared online to publicize the attack.
El Money's true identity was never uncovered, and no charges were filed against him. The court was told that he provided Lavrynovych with precise instructions regarding the targets, methods for mixing flammable substances, and steps to evade detection.
