The United States and Iran have reached an agreement to conclude their conflict, with a formal signing ceremony scheduled for Friday in Geneva, Switzerland, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on social media early Monday.
"The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete," US President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform shortly after Sharif's declaration.
The accord was reached despite an Israeli strike on Lebanon on Sunday, which drew condemnation from both Iran and Trump.
The specific details of the agreement were not immediately disclosed. Sharif stated that the pact called for "the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon."
Iranian state television reported that Iran had "forced" the US to accept the peace deal, according to Reuters.
Multiple sources previously informed Reuters that the draft agreement would reopen the Strait of Hormuz, end the US blockade of Iranian ports, and extend a ceasefire, while leaving Iran's nuclear program to be addressed during a 60-day period of additional negotiations.
